Light from the sun takes approximately 500 seconds (or 8 minutes 20 seconds) to travel to Earth. This site-specific digital video projection uses a "heavenly star" quilt block pattern to stitch together video footage of light reflecting off of water.

There are five "scenes" depicting imagery collected at five locations - behind Grand Coulee Dam (Washington), Lake Celilo (Oregon), Pacific Ocean (near Crescent City, California), Eightmile Creek (North Cascades, Washington), and Sunnyside Irrigation Canal (near Zillah, Washington). Three video clips from each location captured different colors and textures in the waters of each place. Those three clips are overlaid upon one another to mimic the textures of fabric.
